PdfGrabber is an application which enables youto convert PDF documents to other formats, such as Word, Excel,Powerpoint, images, HTML, text and XML.
The user interface of the program is simple and intuitive. You canadd PDFs to the list by using the file browser or the “drag anddrop” method. Batch processing is also supported.
When it comes to the output format, you have several options foreach aforementioned format. For example, you can select eithertext-based (tabulators), layout-based (text boxes), multi-columnlayout, continuous text or text recognition with OCR mode, in thecase of Word.
But you can also choose universal (complete structure), text-based(few columns), layout-based (many columns) in case of Excel, aswell as a presentation or Pack&Go presentation forPowerpoint.
The “Images” option lets you pick between raster graphic, vectorgraphic, contained images or TIFF, while the “HTML” output also hasan “ePUB” mode, and more.
Additionally, you can view PDF document properties, access a rangeeditor, set the output directory and select the page range(all pages or selected ones).
Once you have pressed the “Export” button, you can changepreferences for each output format. For instance, if you want toexport to the Word profile, you can select the extension (RTF, XMLor DOCX), text alignment, as well as enable several options(convert images and tables, carriage return, embed fonts, exportlines as graphic, merge hyphenation).
When the conversion is done, you can set PdfGrabber to open thedocuments with the associated application, compress and email oropen the output directory.
The program takes up a low-to-moderate amount of system resourcesand quickly finishes a task without popping up any errors. Also,there is a comprehensive help file you can use.
However, the text format is not always excellent and sometimesPdfGrabber causes some disasters in the output files, from thispoint of view. Also, the demo version is very restricted.Otherwise, we strongly recommend PdfGrabber to all users.
