SIMetrix/SIMPLIS is a popular CircuitSimulation package. SIMetrix/SIMPLIS is a combination of twoindependent circuit simulators: SIMetrix, a SPICE-based simulatorwith numerous enhancements including custom models for powertransistor devices; and SIMPLIS, a fast simulator that usespiecewise linear approximations and includes useful analysis modesfor switching power supply circuits.
SIMetrix/SIMPLIS provides the SIMPLIS simulator as well as allfeatures of SIMetrix Classic. It has been developed as part of anongoing joint venture with our partner company SIMPLIS Technologiesbased in Portland, Oregon, USA.
Power circuit simulation
SIMetrix/SIMPLIS enables engineers to design and simulate switchingpower electronics systems. It combines accuracy and speed in afull-featured design environment, enabling 10-50x faster simulationthan SPICE for power supply designs.

– All features of SIMetrix Classic and uses the same GUIenvironment including its hierarchical schematic editor andwaveform viewer
– Transient analysis 10-50x faster than SPICE
– Periodic operating point (POP) analysis. Rapidly locates thesteady state operating point of a switching system without havingto simulate the startup transient conditions
– Small signal AC analysis. Unlike SPICE, operates on the fullswitching model and provides the same result as if making themeasurement with transient analysis using a swept frequencygenerator. In other words, runs a frequency sweep just how youwould do this on the bench. No need for error-prone averagedmodels
– The Advanced Digital Simulation Library provides a wide varietyof digital functions such as counters, ADCs, DACs and muchmore.
– SPICE transistor and diode model conversion to SIMPLIS format.Converts SPICE models by running a SPICE simulation to performparameter extraction.
