DJ Jukebox is an essential tool for managing asong library and generating playlists. Each song can be assigned arating so that favorites are played more often, and that unwantedsongs are never chosen. Once all of the songs are rated, DJ Jukeboxwill generate playlists with the perfect mix of great songs, goodsongs, and some average songs. The Repetition Prevention featureensures that the playlist is always fresh.
Also included is an array of powerful file management tools thatallow you to easily manage your song library. This makes DJ Jukeboxan important time saver, especially as your collection grows intothe thousands.
Playlist Generator
DJ Jukebox generates random lists of songs which can be deliveredto a media player such as Winamp. Each song can be rated (on ascale of 0-100) to ensure that favorites are chosen more often. Arating of 0 will prevent the song from being played altogether.
File Management
DJ Jukebox maintains a list of each song and its rating in the”Song Table”. From this table, songs can be easily renamed,deleted, or rated.
DJ Jukebox can rename or move an entire folder. The Song Table isautomatically updated to reflect the new song locations.
DJ Jukebox can also perform a text search and replace operation onthe Song Table. Again, the song files are automatically renamedwhen a change is made.
Remote Control
DJ Jukebox can listen for commands from another copy of DJ Jukeboxlocated on a local area network (LAN). Programmable keystrokes canbe sent to the server with the click of a button, providingcomplete remote control over the media player.
The remote control feature can be used by a dedicated entertainmentserver. DJ Jukebox can start automatically during bootup and beginlistening for remote commands. The server does not even need amonitor.
Rip CD’s
DJ Jukebox can convert a CD into MP3 files. It uses the LAMEencoder which is widely regarded as producing the highest audioquality. Features include:
– Jitter detection
– Automatic slowdown and retry when sectors cannot be read
– FreeDB enabled to provide album and track information
Commercials
DJ Jukebox can insert commercials in between songs. The commercialscan be any type of media file that the media player supports. Theaverage number of commercials per song can be adjusted, andindividual commercials can be assigned a frequency rating thatdetermines how often they are chosen.
Repetition Prevention
When DJ Jukebox generates a playlist, it can make sure that songsdo not get repeated too often. It can also ensure that relatedsongs from the same artist or album are not repeated too often.
Additional Features
– Works with all versions of Windows 10, 8, 2012, 7, 2008, Vista,XP, 2003, and 2000.
– All songs on the hard drive can be added to the Song Table in onesimple step.
– There are two sets of ratings: one for when you are alone, andone for when you have guests.
– A song’s meta tags (a.k.a. ID3 tags) can be viewed andedited.
– Songs that were not recorded properly can be marked as “bad”.This prevents the song from being chosen for a playlist withoutremoving it from the Song Table.
– The songs can be located on a network computer (no drive mappingis required).
– Playlists can be saved for later retrieval, like an “Oldies” mixfor when you’re feeling nostalgic.
– A generated playlist can be limited to a single artist of yourchoosing. You can also choose to play a single album.
– The song list, ratings, and other settings are stored in a”Project” file. Most users will only work with a single project,but any number can be used.
– The Song Table can be checked for errors, such as a nonexistentfile or illegal rating.
– Identical songs can be identified and deleted.
– If you have a separate entertainment server, it can be shut downremotely. If the server supports the Wake On LAN feature, it can bepowered up remotely.
– Command line parameters can be used to generate and playplaylists. This is especially useful for creating Desktopshortcuts.
– The Remote Control feature can be incorporated into third-partyprograms. The help file describes the syntax of all commands andexplains how they can be sent to a DJ Jukebox server.
– The complete list of artists, albums, and songs can beprinted.
